from 5 reviewsPiano Beach is an extraordinary piano lesson book that seamlessly combines music education with a beautiful beach illustration. The beach imagery isn’t just a visual delight—it symbolizes growth, tranquility, and the journey of learning, making the process feel natural and inspiring.
What truly elevates this book is the incredible author, whose passion for teaching is evident in every page. The lessons are clear, engaging, and accessible for learners of all ages, from beginners to more experienced players. The author’s ability to simplify complex concepts while keeping the material enjoyable is a true gift.
Piano Beach is a perfect blend of beautiful illustration, thoughtful instruction, and a deep love for music. It’s a must-have for anyone wanting to learn the piano in a fun, inspiring way!

This lovely book was greeted with great enthusiasm by my seven year old granddaughter who carried it around all day after receiving it, trying out new songs and gaining confidence with her technique in playing the notes with more than one finger. Her little sister didn't get near it but we are hoping she will be allowed a go when the initial enthusiasm wanes a little!

My granddaughter is going to love her Christmas present. Am really looking forward to spending time with her, developing an interest in, and a love for music

Piano Beach is an absolute gem! It’s not just a book; it’s a mini piano adventure in your hands. With its built-in keyboard, you can tickle the ivories anywhere or use the cute stickers on your own keys to make learning the keys a breeze. The lessons are super easy to follow and sneak in just enough music theory without feeling like homework. So stoked we came across this.

My 3.5 year old loves the story about the fingers splashing in the water! And she’s always so excited to flip the pages of the nursery rhymes and tell me what the song is.

About Piano Beach
Piano beach is a beginner-friendly piano method designed by experienced piano teacher, jazz pianist and songwriter Emma Stephenson (PhD, Bmus). This educational resource combines photographs of Madeleine Hayes’ enchanting ceramic art, a delightful rhyming narrative, and a collection of well-loved nursery rhymes to create a fun, play-based learning environment for children (and their supervising grown ups!)
If supervised by an adult (no experience required), regular and mindful use of this book will allow a child (aged 4 - 8 yrs) to effortlessly develop a functional hand shape, aural skills and finger dexterity required for piano playing.
The built-in soundboard enables families who do not own a piano to enjoy this foundational piano education. Those who do own a piano or keyboard can use the enclosed sticker sheet to transform the keys into a scene that matches the story.
